I entered the education field in 2001 teaching deaf and hard-of-hearing students. My determination to better serve my hard-of-hearing students led me down the path of Structured Literacy. I am grateful for obtaining the knowledge from my Certified Academic Language Therapist training because it has opened many opportunities to help other struggling readers including those with Dyslexia. I am a lifelong learner always seeking ways to better serve my students and clients.

"Kristen has been absolutely instrumental in helping our 12-year-old gain the tools he needs to become a more proficient speller. We had been struggling with spelling for years and couldn’t quite figure out what was causing the difficulty, especially since our son is an avid reader. Despite his love for reading, spelling was always a challenge. I came across Lexercise and thought, "Why not give it a try?" and I’m so glad we did! Kristen has been fantastic at coaching him through the process. Not only has she been incredibly supportive of him, but she’s also provided me with useful tips on how to better assist him at home. They have a wonderful rapport—he enjoys sharing stories from his life with her, and she encourages him while gently pushing him to stay on track with his lessons. I truly appreciate the 1:1 sessions and the structure of the literacy program. It’s made a real difference, and I’m so glad we decided to give this program a shot. Highly recommend it to anyone struggling with spelling!"
"My wife and I are very grateful for Kristen. Both our girls have progressed immensely in their reading levels. Both the girls really love Kristen."
"Reading used to be such a chore for my daughter. After much frustration, we made the decision to look for help. Since working with Kristen, my daughter's self-confidence has been boosted as well as her reading level. She was diagnosed as severely dyslexic, however, now reads above grade level. I would highly recommend Kristen for any reading issues."
